罗马书12章从神的怜悯开始，转向身体参与的实际敬拜。更新的心思辨明忠实的行动，而不只模仿周围习惯。随后保罗讨论恩赐、接待、忍耐和对敌人的回应。圣洁因此远比一小组私人禁令广泛，涉及消费、言语、工作、人际关系，以及群体如何对待缺少社会地位的人。

爱有道德内涵

哥林多前书13章在教会争竞的处境中，描绘忍耐、诚实、不自私的爱。爱不庆祝恶行，也不认可别人受伤害。加拉太书5章把自由与服事相连，点出破坏群体的行为。有爱的回应可能包括诚实劝戒、悔改、界限和保护。不能把饶恕误当作掩盖虐待，或让不受问责的人重新接近弱者。

身体很重要

哥林多前书6章把性行为与属于基督、将来复活联系起来。帖撒罗尼迦前书4章谈性方面的圣洁，并警告不可亏负别人。本资源采用历史上的福音派性伦理，同时承认当代基督教群体对某些应用存在争论。讨论应解释经文，并维护每个人的尊严。羞辱、强迫、轻蔑和剥削，不会因加上宗教语言就变得圣洁。

自由成为实际照顾

关于食物和良心的教导，要求信徒顾念他人的益处，而不只是证明自己的自由。腓利门书以基督徒的亲属关系，对奴隶制度中的关系提出要求，但没有明确颁布普遍废奴法令。既不可虚构这样的法令，也不可利用它没有出现来合理化占有人。跟随基督意味着以具体的爱抵抗非人化，寻求邻舍的益处。
